Ingredients: Dried Orange, Star Anise, Allspice, Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon Sticks, Crystallised Ginger.
Enough to make 2 bottles of mulled wine
1. Tip contents of pack (keep star anise aside or later) & 200g sugar (to taste) into a large saucepan over medium heat. Then stir in just enough red wine to cover the sugar.
2. Let this simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved into the red wine, then bring to the boil. Keep on a rolling boil for about 4 to 5 minutes, or until you’ve got a beautiful thick syrup with the spices infused.
3. Turn the heat down to low & add your star anise & the rest of the 2 bottles of wine. Gently heat the wine for around 5 minutes & when it’s warm & delicious, ladle it into heatproof glasses & serve.
Can also use to make mulled cider or apple juice.
