Did you know that most raw almonds are pasteurised despite claiming to be 'raw'? Some retailers will try to get around this by calling them 'natural' almonds. Pasteurisation involves either steaming the almonds (exposing them to super heated steam under high pressure) or fumigating them with Propylene Oxide (PPO). Our raw unpasteurised almonds have not undergone either of these processes, so they are truly 'raw'.
