INGREDIENTS

300g baking soda

130g citric acid

powdered food colouring (optional)

20 drops essential oil of choice

30g sweet almond/fractionated coconut oil

METHOD

  1. Add baking soda, citric acid, colouring (if using) and essential oils to Thermomix and mix – 15 seconds/speed 3.
  2. Add almond/coconut oil and mix 5-10 sec/speed 5.

** If mixture doesn’t hold its shape when squeezed together, you may need to add some extra oil, but don’t over do it; 5g at a time is plenty. You want it to only “just” hold together.

  1. Spoon mixture into any moulds you like. I use Kmart/IKEA ice cube trays mainly – there are some super cute ones out there at the moment!
  2. Leave to set for 24 hours. BE PATIENT. After this time, bath drops should fall out easily when you turn the moulds upside down.
  3. Store in an airtight container and drop one to 2 in the bath and watch them fizz away!

NOTES

  • I use natural food colouring, as my kids love these fizzy drops. You can use any food dye, however, powder is the best option if you want to avoid the risk of premature fizzing. I LOVE using “Lavender ” in my fizzy bath drops.
